HIGH SPRINGS, FLA- Your High Springs Fire Department (HSFD) is proud to announce that it has earned an improved Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification, moving from Class 4 to Class 3 following a comprehensive evaluation of the department's fire protection and prevention capabilities.
The ISO Public Protection Classification measures a community's ability to prevent, respond to, and suppress fires. Some insurance providers use these ratings to determine property insurance premiums, so an improved classification may result in lower insurance costs.
The evaluation examines several key areas, including emergency communications, fire department staffing and equipment, training, and water supply. One of the most significant factors in HSFD’s advancement was our enhanced Community Risk Reduction (CRR) efforts.
Over the past two years, your High Springs Fire Department has expanded its focus beyond calls for service by implementing proactive programs in injury prevention and fire and life safety, designed to prevent emergencies before they occur.

High Springs Fire Department’s move from Class 4 to Class 3 will take effect on November 1, 2026. Homeowners are encouraged to contact their insurance provider to see how this improvement may benefit them.
