FULL-TIME SERVICE WORKER – Wastewater Collections Technician / Service Worker
The City of High Springs is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Wastewater Collections Technician/Service Worker to join our Utilities team. This role is essential to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the city’s wastewater collection system.
Position Overview
This position involves performing a variety of manual labor and maintenance tasks related to wastewater system operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and eager to learn technical skills in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks within the wastewater collection system
· Rebuild and replace grinder pumps on a weekly basis
· Operate general equipment and tools safely and effectively
· Assist with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting (training provided if needed)
· Work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
· Participate in rotating on-call standby duty and respond to call-backs as required
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid Florida Driver License
· Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments
· Basic understanding of—or willingness to learn—wastewater system operations
· Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge required
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Compensation & Benefits:
· Salary: $17.00 – $22.00 an hour, plus overtime and on-call pay
