Summer Arts Camp – High School Counselor and Artist in Training (CAIT) Application

We’re so excited to be able to offer Alachua County High School students the opportunity to work during our Summer Arts Camp with Lead and Assisting artists as Counselors and Artists in Training.

As CAITs, High Schoolers will be assigned to Lead Artists as support during camp hours. During this time, CAITs will receive valuable professional and leadership skills and training from Lead artists. They will also receive focused and intentional instruction in the specific medium that their assigned Lead Artist is focusing their lessons on.

Scheduling will be flexible for CAITs based on their own needs and desires. CAITs are welcome to work part of the Summer or the entire summer. Scheduling can be discussed during the interview and will have no bearing on the selection of candidates. CAITs will be paid $10 per hour and are asked to match each paid hour with one volunteer service hour.

Like the rest of the Summer Arts Camp staff, CAITs are expected to attend training from 9am to 3pm on June 1st through June 3rd. Conflicts should be communicated during the interview process.

IF interested in working this Summer as a High School Counselor and Artist in Training, please answer the following questions and fill out the secondary application and return it to us as soon as possible. Interviews will take place in the first two weeks of May and final selections will be made by May 27th.

IF not interested in working as a CAIT, High School students may enroll for Summer Arts Camp and will be placed with the 6-8th grade group.
