Debby is nearing landfall near the big bend. She is roughly 45 miles northwest of Cedar Key, moving north-northeast at 10 MPH.
Wind and rain have continued to increase during the overnight hours. This trend will continue through the day today. In the last 24 hours, we have recorded about 4 inches of rain. Another 4+ is expected today, with yet another 1-2 inches overnight tonight.
Please avoid travel if you can. Our crews continue to respond to downed trees, and some roads are beginning to feel the effects of this heavy rain.
Garbage collection for Monday has been suspended. Please move your cart back up to your home, but only if you feel safe doing so. Winds will pick up during the day, and they may topple over.
