Fireworks only legal to shoot off on Independence Day and New Years.
A reminder, that under Florida Statute 791.08, Fireworks are ILLEGAL in Florida except for three days out of the year. Those three days are as follows:
New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and Independence Day.
Florida’s fireworks laws define “fireworks” as everything that goes into the air and explodes. Sparklers, Pop-its, snaps, noisemakers, etc. are allowed to be purchased and used anytime during the year.
As we approach the July Fourth holiday, remember fireworks are ONLY legal ON THE FOURTH. Use of fireworks on July 2nd, 3rd, or 5th, for example, is illegal.
We encourage you to talk to your neighbors and let them know that you are planning to set off fireworks, so they can prepare if they have pets or family members who are sensitive to loud noises, including those suffering from PTSD.
Remember to have a hose or a fire extinguisher nearby as well!
