Over 500 families served in Farm Share event

February 5th giveaway is most successful Farm Share event yet. 

In what has become an annual tradition, the City of High Springs, with support from Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe partnered with Farm Share to host another free food giveaway. The event this weekend, hosted at the Farmers' Market Pavilion in downtown High Springs, provided food for over 500 local families. 

Nearly two dozen volunteers and city staff mobilized on a damp, cool Saturday morning to distribute thousands of pounds of food and drinks, ranging from granola bars and orange juice, to pork loin and vegetables. 

Officials hope to hold another event later this year.
