TROPICAL STORM IAN UPDATE #02

Tropical Storm Ian churns west/northwest across the Caribbean Sea, expected to become a Hurricane later today or tonight.
In the words of Beyonce, “to the left, to the left…” Ian has developed a pattern the last few updates of a general westward shift in his path. However, it is important to note that Ian is still over 1,000 miles away, and a lot can happen over the next 24-48 hours.
Another item of consideration is the overall size of the storm. As Ian enters the Gulf, it will likely grow in size, increasing the breadth of storm impacts, such as winds and rain. Any further shifts west may lessen those impacts on our area. Conversely, a shift to the east, may increase them.
The weather will yet again be near picture-perfect today. Let us commiserate a Gator loss together by continuing calm, patient and methodical storm preparations. Remember, prepare now, so you don’t panic later.
