Qualifying to Run for Commission Seats #1 and #2
The City of High Springs, Florida, will have an election for Seats #1 and #2 of the High Springs City Commission for a three-year term on November 3, 2026. The Commission will set the Qualifying Period will be determined at the June 11, 2026 Commission Meeting, check back for the Qualifying period dates.

Campaign Signs
In general, campaign signs, such as yard signs, should be removed within 7 days after a campaign ends. Campaigns must not put their signs in any roadway right-of-way. Illegally placed signs are subject to removal.

▪ Any political advertisement or campaign literature must contain the phrase “paid political advertisement." The ad or literature must also identify the persons or organizations sponsoring the ad and who approved the ad, and state whether the ad is paid for or provided in-kind. This requirement does not apply to campaign messages which are designed to be worn by a person, but does apply to telephone banks and other non-printed media.
▪ Any tickets or advertising for a campaign fund raiser must comply with the requirements of section F.S. 106.143.
▪ Any political advertisement paid for by an independent expenditure must prominently state: "Paid political advertisement paid for by name and address of person paying for advertisement, independently of any candidate (or committee)." F.S. 106.071(2)
Enforcement of Campaign Laws
Jurisdiction to investigate and determine violations of Florida election laws is vested in the Florida Division of Elections and the Florida Elections Commission. Violations of Florida Statutes governing campaigns are subject to penalties ranging from fines and warnings, up to removal of the candidate's name from the ballot, disqualification from taking office, and other criminal penalties.
Voter Information
To vote in the City of High Springs Elections residents must live within the incorporated City of High Springs and be registered to vote with Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office. Vote-by-Mail-
You must now renew your request every two years! Pursuant to Florida Statutes §101.62(a), the maximum amount of time your request can be honored is "[f]or all elections through the end of the calendar year of the next regularly scheduled general election." In other words, please be sure to renew your request for a vote-by-mail ballot at the beginning of each odd-numbered year by contacting the Alachua County Supervisor of Election Office.

Residents are encouraged to verify and, if needed, update their registration by visiting www.RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov or by contacting the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections office. You can register online by going to VoteAlachua.gov. or go in person to the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office. Bring a valid picture and signature identification (see below for acceptable Identification). If you vote at the polls, and cannot show a picture and signature identification, you must vote a provisional ballot.

- United States Passport
- Valid Debit or Credit Card with the voter's signature
- Military ID
- Student ID
- Retirement Center ID

- Public Assistance ID (Social Security or other social services)
- Veteran Health ID issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
- A license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to S. 790.06.
- Employee ID issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.
