QUALIFYING :

Candidate qualifying will be held starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2026 through Thursday August 20, 2026 @ 6:00 p.m. 

Candidates for municipal office must file the appropriate forms with the City Clerk prior to opening a campaign account and to qualify for office. 

All elections shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter, Code of Ordinances and general elections laws of the state of Florida.

  • TERM OF OFFICE OF OFFICE: THREE (3) YEARS        
  •   ELECTION DATE: NOVEMBER 3, 2026
 
  • QUALIFYING PERIOD:  August 17, 2026 7:30 a.m. through August 20, 2026 at 6:00 pm
  • ANNUAL SALARY-CURRENTLY AS OF QUALIFYING $8,343.00
 
  • QUALIFICATIONS-
    • CANDIDATE MUST BE A REGISTERED VOTER IN THE CITY OF HIGH SPRINGS
    • CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN THE CITY LIMITS OF HIGH SPRINGS 
 
  • ELECTORATE- ELIGIBLE REGISTERED VOTERS IN THE CITY LIMITS OF HIGH SPRINGS (FS 97.041, ARTICLE VI AND VIII, FLORIDA CONSTITUTION)
 
  • QUALIFYING FEE-1% OF THE ANNUAL SALARY ($83.43)
 
  • QUALIFYING METHODS-QUALIFYING FEE OF $83.43 OR AFFIDAVIT OF UNDUE BURDEN 
 
  • FILING FOR OFFICE-FORMS REQUIRED
    • FORM DS-DE9 (APPOINTMENT OF CAMPAIGN TREASURER AND DESIGNATION OF CAMPAIGN DEPOSITYORY). This is required to be filed with the City Clerk's office prior to opening a Campaign Account, Accepting or Expending Funds and Reproducing petitions for circulation (FS 99.061, 99.095, 99.096).
    • FORM DS-DE84 (STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE) Is required to be filed within 10 days after form DS-DE9 has been filed with the City Clerk's Office (FS 106.23)
 
  • QUALIFYING FORMS-
